Portuguese is dominating me! Everyday I am in intense training with an instructor (sometimes two) and two other students. I also am in the lab for a minimum of an hour working on bettering my grasp of the language plus at-least another hour of homework each night. Getting to proficiency in 26 weeks is no easy task, but I am determined to do it!
The Portugese alphabet up in my condo along with an awesome painting by my mother! :-p
Here is a quick video of the alphabet just to give you a taste of the language.
I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been reading. It seems I have drawn a crowd for some aspiring FSOs. With that in mind I wanted to give a few links that were/ are very important to reaching your dream career.
- Foreign Service on Reddit – Wealth of information and discussion here.
- Yahoo Group – There are 3: for the FSOT, FSOA, and then waiting to get into A-100. That link will get you started.
- State page (Foreign Service Online Communities) – This link is a wealth of information for really digging into this career.
I am literally heading off to do homework. Obrigado (thank you) for reading!
